JOSHUA ELLO

     professional violin instruction

Joshua Ello was born into a wonderful musical family in 1981. His studies in music began with the violin when he was three years and eleven months old. Learning violin through the Suzuki Method during his childhood development, he acquired a fantastic ability to learn music by ear. Later studies introduced a healthy diet of more traditional curriculum including sight reading exercises, etudes, and scales. His first orchestral experience was with the Houston Youth Symphony and Ballet in 1992. Mr. Ello was privileged to attend the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston Texas where he studied violin, orchestra performance, string quartet performance, music theory, and music history in a specialized, artistic program. Joshua attended the University of North Texas where he studied violin with Julia Bushkova from 2000-2005. Miss Bushkova is one of the most sought after violin professors amongst aspiring violinists from all over the world. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance, he started his graduate studies at the University of Houston. His scholastic interest and focus turned to violin teaching. Mr. Ello studied principles and philosophies of violin teaching with Andrjez Grabiec and attained a master’s degree in Violin Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Houston in 2007. Andrjez Grabiec has an impressive performance resume, and a love for violin teaching that deeply inspires powerful music within his students and from his colleagues.

Mr. Ello began teaching professionally in 2003 at the Master’s Touch School of Music in Grapevine, Texas. Since then, he has taught violin lessons in various school programs or small conservatories throughout North Texas, Central Texas and Houston as well as in his home studios. Mr. Ello teaches and promotes a traditional learning method with an enthusiastic approach to problem solving and progress. The core values within lessons are centered on foundational technical principles that must be given attention at every meeting and with consistent frequency.

Joshua Ello has had the privilege to perform with various artists ranging from street performers to famous musicians such as Herbie Hancock and Diana Krall. He also plays the acoustic and electric guitar, bass guitar, drums, mandolin, electric violin, viola, cello and sings.
